{"product_id":"p5119","title":"Bizen Beer Mug (Large)","description":"This is a brand new Bizen beer mug, just out of the kiln, created by the popular young artist Yoshiteru Koriki, a former apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. This latest piece, from a kiln firing in early summer 2018, is an extra-large mug crafted with the goal of bringing out the best qualities of Bizen clay and surpassing the performance of glass mugs. It is a rare, extra-large size for a Bizen piece, holding approximately 1100ml, equivalent to a standard beer mug. True to Koriki-sensei's style, it is crafted from high-quality Bizen clay; its moist, fine-grained texture produces a finer beer foam, significantly enhancing the flavor. Cooling the mug before use allows the surface to retain moisture, further accentuating the beautiful earthy quality and *goma* (ash glaze) patterns. This is a perfect, reasonably priced masterpiece for the hot summer months, making it an ideal gift.\n\nPaper box\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 16.1cm × 11.1cm × Height 17.8cm\n\nYoshiteru Koriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture. After seven years of training, he built his own climbing kiln in Shizutani, Bizen City, in 1996 to strike out on his own, and successfully completed his first firing the following year. He held his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2000 and has held annual solo exhibitions ever since.
