{"product_id":"p5155","title":"Bizen sake cup","description":"This is a Bizen sake cup by Akira Okada, who studied under the fourth Living National Treasure, Yu Fujiwara, and continues to explore his own unique style while inheriting that of his mentor. Among the wide variety of Hidasuki styles produced by the Fujiwara family, this piece features the type where a vermilion-colored clay body is accented by dark red fire marks. The style reflects a pursuit of simplicity inherited from his mentor, characterized by clean, unadorned wheel-thrown techniques. The foot is also finished in a simple \"gokezoko\" (go-bowl base) style to match, further polishing the minimalist aesthetic.\n\nSigned wooden box (double-slat lid)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.7cm × 6.4cm × Height 4.5cm\n\nWhile studying oil painting at Musashino Art University, Akira Okada met Kei Fujiwara and Yu Fujiwara and was moved by their simple yet rich forms and firing techniques, becoming a live-in apprentice to Yu Fujiwara in 1968. He began winning awards in public exhibitions in 1975 and held his debut exhibition in Okayama in 1978. He built his own kiln and held his first firing in 1981. He creates a wide range of works, from large jars, vases, and tableware to tea ceramics and ceramic walls. In addition to hand-built slab work, he often uses a potter's wheel for large jars and vases, subsequently shaving the surface with a tool to add curved patterns and his own unique expression. He became a full member of the Japan Kōgei Association in 1986. In 1997, his work was exhibited at the Bizen-yaki Paris Exhibition. In 1999, he created the ceramic mural \"Mai-San-San\" for JR Nishi-Maizuru Station. He is also a professor at Kurashiki University of Science and the Arts.","brand":"岡田 輝","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46617978830945,"sku":"5155","price":6000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/5155.jpg?v=1790230765","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p5155","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
