p5174
Shiori Long Dish
This is a new Oribe-hidasuki long plate by Koji Nakahara, who studied under Fumio Kawabata and aims to create works that suit modern life. The piece combines the stain resistance and ease of use provided by Oribe glazing with the evolving character and textural changes of Bizen clay. By reinforcing the outer edge with Oribe glaze while retaining the shifting beauty and comfortable feel of the Bizen clay, the artist has enhanced the plate's perfection as functional tableware. It features the meticulous craftsmanship characteristic of Nakahara-sensei; the weight is perfectly balanced—neither too heavy nor too light—making it easy to store and handle. The corners, which are prone to chipping, have been clipped, a detail that reflects Nakahara-sensei's thoughtful attention.

No box
Diameter 29.6cm x 12.4cm x Height 1.6cm

*Shipping fee of 500 yen applies.

Koji Nakahara was born in Osaka Prefecture in 1978.
