{"product_id":"p5234","title":"Bizen sake bottle","description":"This is a new Bizen sake flask by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige family. Committed to the traditional clay-making techniques of the Kaneshige lineage, this piece is crafted from clay refined entirely by hand without the use of a pug mill, and aged for decades before use. The melt-in-your-mouth scarlet hue, which speaks to the quality of the clay, is superlative; despite being an unglazed, high-fired piece made using nothing but earth, it possesses a luscious, fruit-like color. This flask features a rare *kase-yohen* (matte kiln transformation) landscape—a look so scarce that only a tiny amount can be gathered from a single firing—combining the *kase-goma* (matte sesame) effect, which resembles tree bark, with the *yohen* characteristic of cooled, solidified lava. While the construction is remarkably dignified, the flask is light and easy to hold, offering an excellent, comfortable weight that makes it a pleasure to use for serving sake.\n\nSigned box to follow\u003cbr\u003e\nRim 4.0cm x Body 8.8cm x Body 8.7cm x Height 14.6cm; Capacity approx. 400cc\n\nJumpei Kaneshige was born in Komaba, Tokyo, in 1972 as the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige.
