p5267
Bizen Rice Bowl
This is a Bizen rice bowl by Yoshiteru Koriki, a popular young artist who was an apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. Made using high-quality rice field clay, the rich, viscous shiso-colored surface is so smooth that it almost feels as if it might melt to the touch. The interior is generously coated with sesame glaze, while the exterior features an amber-colored surface created by the iron content of the clay leaching out to match. Furthermore, the finely textured, file-like finish of the sesame glaze inside makes this an ideal rice bowl, as it prevents rice from sticking and helps the clay absorb excess moisture.

Paper box
Diameter 13.4cm × Diameter 12.8cm × Height 7.1cm

*Shipping fee is 500 yen.

Yoshiteru Koriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture.
