{"product_id":"p5388","title":"Bizen tea bowl","description":"This Bizen tea bowl by Shusaku Taku is a piece that embodies the daily inspirations he ferments into form, reflecting the Bizen pottery tradition that has matured alongside the continuous activities of people throughout history. True to Taku-sensei’s style of crafting each piece with the hope that it will touch the user's heart, this tea bowl is meticulously detailed down to the finest points. The body, raised using the coil-building technique in which he excels, possesses a profound depth, with a soft, captivating silhouette clearly modeled after Raku tea bowls. The firing features his signature *hidasuki* (fire-cord) technique: on the exterior, dynamic *hidasuki* patterns intertwine like vines wrapping around the surface, while in the interior, static *hidasuki* marks appear as if roots slowly spreading or fading into a final resting place. The slightly bluish surface, speckled with black grains, exudes a withered aesthetic reminiscent of ancient Bizen pottery.\n\nSigned wooden box to be provided at a later date (please allow some time for shipping).\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 11.2cm × Diameter 11.0cm × Height 8.2cm\n\nShusaku Taku was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Mamoru Taku.
