p5405
Bizen ware small bowl
This Bizen small bowl is the work of Yoshiteru Koriki, a popular young ceramic artist and a former apprentice of the master Sozan Kaneshige. Crafted using high-quality mountain clay, the thick, rich, perilla-colored surface is so smooth and textured that it almost feels as if it might melt to the touch. The interior is generously coated with a layer of sesame glaze, creating the perfect backdrop to highlight the colors of any dish served within—a true hallmark of Bizen ware. Furthermore, as the clay absorbs moisture from the food, the surface takes on a beautiful, indescribable hue; this evolution, where the piece only reaches its true potential once filled with food, is quintessentially Bizen.

Paper box
Diameter 11.4cm x 11.4cm x Height 6.7cm

*Shipping fee is 500 yen.

Yoshiteru Koriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture.
