{"product_id":"p5435","title":"Bizen Hidasuki sake cup with a cut foot","description":"This is a brand-new *hidasuki* (fire-cord) sake cup, fresh from the kiln of Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his mastery of clay, firing, and craftsmanship. The reduction-fired *hidasuki* that Morimoto himself calls \"nukimono\" (extracted work) truly lives up to its name, with the color appearing as if the rich *hidasuki* patterns have been drawn out from within the clay. On a chocolate-hued, almost luscious surface, vibrant vermilion cords bloom as if the work were still harboring the heat of the fire. According to Morimoto, reduction *hidasuki* is incredibly profound, and the clay surface will only grow more flavorful and enjoyable the more it is used. This piece features a striking, tea-bowl-like *warikodai* (split foot), with a presence that harmoniously blends power and *wabi* aesthetic; most notable, however, is the magnificent carving of the clay within the foot, which, combined with the chocolate-like texture, results in a finish so evocative it is truly captivating.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san) \u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.7cm x 6.6cm x Height 5.8cm\n\nYoshinobu Morimoto was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1976.
