{"product_id":"p5456","title":"Bizen ware teacup","description":"This is a newly kiln-fired Bizen tea cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his work with clay, firing, and craftsmanship. This Bizen-style piece, which Morimoto himself describes as featuring a \"covering\" (kaburimono), showcases layers of *goma* (ash glaze) and *sangiri* (reduction firing marks) that form a profound, kiln-altered \"garment.\" However, the true essence of this work lies in the exquisite \"nuke\" (clear spaces) created during the firing process of that covering, with the superb interplay of light and shadow emerging from the tightly fired surface being truly magnificent. It is not the soft-fired *nuke* often seen in contemporary Bizen, but rather a pursuit of the hard-fired *nuke* found in antique Bizen; by adding the covering and these clear spaces to a rich, chocolate-like clay surface, he has completed a work with a three-dimensional and dense texture. Combining the aesthetic sense and sculptural techniques cultivated through the creation of tea ceramics such as tea bowls with the deep knowledge gained from his study of tea ceremony and antique ceramics, this tea cup radiates an extraordinary allure and intensity. It is large and substantial, making it suitable for use as a beer mug as well.\n\nNo box\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 8.4cm x 8.3cm x Height 9.0cm\n\nYoshinobu Morimoto was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1976.
