{"product_id":"p5532","title":"Bizen sake bottle","description":"This is an earlier work of Bizen sake flask by Kosuke Kaneshige, leader of the Kaneshige school and son of the great restorer of Bizen ware and Living National Treasure, the late Toyo Kaneshige. It includes a ceramic history document from 1989, suggesting it is a piece from that era. It features the distinctive \"do-jime\" (waist-tightening) design that instantly identifies it as a work by Kosuke, which both refines the overall form and makes it easier to hold. The heavily fired ash-covered *yohen* (kiln transformation) is magnificent, showcasing black-silver ash glazes and a beautiful mouse-gray *namako-hada* (sea cucumber skin) texture. The entire piece, from the base to the interior of the rim, is densely covered in ash, with the side's small circular \"nukemochi\" (blank space)—a hallmark of rolling *yohen*—displaying an even richer, more intense ash-covered transformation. The blank area provides a gentle, flavorful contrast to the intense *yohen*, and the soil, with its subtle scarlet hue that reveals the quality of the clay, will undoubtedly grow richer and deeper in character as you season it with sake. (Please note that while there is almost no visible dirt or sign of use, this is an earlier work.)\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san style)\u003cbr\u003e\nRim 3.3cm x Body diameter 8.9cm x Body diameter 8.5cm x Height 13.2cm, Capacity approx. 400cc\n\nKosuke Kaneshige is the third son of Living National Treasure Toyo Kaneshige.
