{"product_id":"p5537","title":"Bizen Sake Cup","description":"This is a brand new Bizen sake cup, fresh from the kiln by Koichiro Isezaki, who was born as the eldest son of Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and who is breathing new life into the Bizen pottery world with his exceptional sense and masterful modeling skills. While leveraging the characteristics of Bizen ware as an earthen material, he skillfully incorporates elements from his roots, such as wood carving, to create unique pieces that are instantly recognizable as his own. This work is what is known as a \"so-hidasuki\" (full scarlet-sash) piece; by wrapping the entire vessel in straw, the hidasuki, which usually appears as lines, is applied to the entire surface, creating a unique atmosphere reminiscent of a ripe peach. Furthermore, this time, white clay was used as the base, which has transformed the hue of the hidasuki itself into a softer, milkier tone. The piece was formed by tearing a large clay ball into two, joining them, and then building it up as a sphere, which creates ridges and fine wrinkles on the surface, allowing one to enjoy the texture and feel of the clay itself.\n\nSigned wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 8.7cm x 8.3cm x Height 5.8cm\n\nKoichiro Isezaki was born the eldest son of Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki. The Isezaki family is a prestigious name in Bizen pottery; his grandfather was the Intangible Cultural Property holder Yozan Isezaki, and his uncle was the Intangible Cultural Property holder Mitsuru Isezaki, and Koichiro himself aspired to pottery from an early age. After graduating from the Department of Sculpture at Tokyo Zokei University in 1994, he studied abroad in the United States. He studied pottery for about two years under Jeff Shapiro, a potter based in New York City, which greatly broadened his perspective on art and ceramics. After returning to Japan in 2000, he worked hard at his training, receiving guidance alongside his father's disciples. In 2002, he exhibited for the first time at the Tanabe Museum of Art Tea Ceremony Exhibition and was selected.","brand":"伊勢崎晃一朗","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618683408481,"sku":"5537","price":18000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/5537.jpg?v=1790240316","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p5537","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
