{"product_id":"p5702","title":"Kuroshuten","description":"This is a brand-new black sake cup, fresh from the kiln by Koichiro Isezaki, who was born as the eldest son of Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and who is breathing new life into the world of Bizen ware with his exceptional sense and masterful sculpting ability. It was hand-built by tearing a lump of clay into two pieces, layering them together, and working them upward by hand; the tear marks remain as a dynamic, rock-like landscape that exudes incredible intensity. It is made using black clay, often used for swords, and features delicate sesame-like ash glazes (goma) throughout, including on the rim and interior, which accentuate the beauty of the form and the black color itself. The goma reacts beautifully with the rugged, raised front surface created by the tearing of the clay, resulting in a mysterious hue where the yellow of the ash blends with the blue of the black slip. A thin, natural glaze coats the rim like a film, allowing one to enjoy a beautiful cobalt blue gradation.\n\nSigned wooden box to follow at a later date (please allow some time for shipping).\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 8.7cm x Diameter 8.4cm x Height 5.5cm\n\nKoichiro Isezaki was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, as the eldest son of Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki.
