{"product_id":"p5726","title":"Bizen Yohen Blue Sake Cup","description":"This is a Bizen kiln-transmutation blue sake cup by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. This ambitious piece combines his signature black Bizen with kiln-transmutation, resulting in a shift toward blue. Using the kiln's fire to transform the black slip into a blue hue produces an exquisite, captivating gradation that human hands could never replicate. The front features a brilliant ultramarine, while areas that would be considered \"nuke\" (openings) in kiln-transmutation have turned a gunmetal black, accented by ash that flowed from the back to create shell marks and \"drip\" patterns, making for a truly vibrant landscape. The interior starts with a blue kiln-transmutation that shifts into black and finally a dark, bluish-gray gradation, creating an interior that looks as if it is drawing you into a black hole.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san) included.\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.2cm x Diameter 5.5cm x Height 7.1cm\n\nTakashi Baba was born in 1983 as the eldest son of Bizen ware artist Shosuke Baba.
