{"product_id":"p5728","title":"Ibe Tokkuri","description":"This is a Bizen tokkuri (sake bottle) by Kosuke Yashiro, who spent his years of apprenticeship dreaming of working with Bizen ware in Imbe, finally realizing his long-held ambition by building his own kiln there and making his debut. It is a quintessential Bizen piece that reflects the spirit of Yashiro, who was born and raised in Imbe, fell in love with the works of the many potters who lived and died there, and dedicated his life to Bizen ware. The moss-green *kase-goma* (dry ash glaze) created by slow and careful firing in a climbing kiln exhibits a fineness and beautiful coloration reminiscent of the Kaneshige school, a testament to the skill in kiln firing that Yashiro-sensei acquired during his 15-plus years of apprenticeship. Furthermore, the *hi-iro* (scarlet flame marks) appear clearly on both the front and back of the piece; by allowing a little sake to soak into the surface, it will develop an indescribable depth of character. Though slightly heavy in the hand, it is a rare and refined small-sized *ichigo* (approx. 180ml) tokkuri, which further shows his respect for the master potters of the past.\n\nNo box included\u003cbr\u003e\nRim 3.3cm × Body Diameter 7.9cm × Body Diameter 7.9cm × Height 11.1cm Capacity: Approx. 230cc\n\nKosuke Yashiro was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido in 1979.
