{"product_id":"p5732","title":"Bizen Sake Cup","description":"This is an earlier Bizen guinomi (sake cup) by Sosu Kaneshige, who succeeded to the Maruyama kiln as the eldest son of Sozan Kaneshige and captivated many with his harmonious blend of delicate, graceful clay texture and powerful form. It comes with a biographical summary from 1990, suggesting it was created around that time. The well-fired yellow sesame glaze (kigoma) harmonizes with the bright brown clay, resulting in the characteristic coloration of Kaneshige Bizen. True to the Kaneshige family's dedication to the quality of their clay, the texture may appear simple at first glance, but it possesses a subtle luster—a rare, inimitable quality that only the Kaneshige family can achieve. The wide, masculine-carved foot rim is so powerful that even the potter’s mark appears as part of the landscape. As you use it, the clay surface will mature, evolving into an exquisite aesthetic. (Although it is an earlier work, there are no signs of dirt or use whatsoever.)\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san style)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.9cm x 6.6cm x Height 6.2cm\n\nSosu Kaneshige was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1945 as the eldest son of Sozan Kaneshige. After graduating from the Faculty of Agriculture at Kyoto University, he began his path in ceramics under his father in 1969. He later became independent in 1979. He primarily focuses on tea ceremony ceramics using a potter's wheel, characterized by his deep firing techniques. He is committed to eliminating ornamentation as much as possible, focusing instead on pouring his own soul directly into the clay. He rarely enters public exhibitions, preferring to focus his creative energy on solo exhibitions, which he holds energetically every year at department stores in Okayama, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, and Kumamoto. He also held a solo exhibition in Munich, Germany, in 1995, and participated in the Bizen Ware Paris Exhibition in 1997. In 2019, he received the Okayama Prefecture Cultural Award.","brand":"金重 愫","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618688880737,"sku":"5732","price":26000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/5732.jpg?v=1790240506","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p5732","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
