{"product_id":"p5741","title":"Bizen sake cup","description":"This is a Bizen sake cup by Shosuke Baba, the father of popular artist Takashi Baba, whose works captivated people with a subtle yet impactful presence. The ceramic techniques he honed under Zenji Urakami are on full display, resulting in a piece that maintains a distinct originality within a form inherited from his mentor. It features a jar-like shape with very prominent wheel marks, and a signature spatula mark in the center of the body—a detail passed down from his mentor. A slightly matte yellow sesame glaze (kama) appears in a diagonal \"kesa-gasage\" pattern, and the contrast with the perilla-colored clay body gives it a truly classic Bizen aesthetic. The waist of the piece is constricted, making it easy to hold with your fingers.\n\nSigned wooden box (double-braced lid)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.1cm × Diameter 5.7cm × Height 5.2cm\n\nShosuke Baba was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1947.
