{"product_id":"p5771","title":"Mishima ware","description":"This Mishima tea bowl is by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with a superior aesthetic sense who constantly evolves in his mastery of clay, firing, and craftsmanship. This tea bowl features the *hakeme* (brushed slip) technique achieved through wood-firing, capturing a meticulously crafted world that reflects Mr. Morimoto’s dedication to the study of ancient ceramics. The heavily crinkled white slip shows great vigor in its application, and combined with the *goma* (ash glaze) drips reminiscent of Bizen ware, it creates a scene that is both understated and elegant. Detailed nuances derived from his research into ancient ceramics are hidden throughout the piece, such as the subtle tightening at the midsection of the bowl followed by a rise and a slight flare at the rim. The *kodai* (foot ring) has an exquisite height and depth relative to the bowl, and the kiln transformation from the wood-firing gives it a brilliant blue-silver sheen that is truly impressive.\n\nSigned wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping).\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 14.0cm × 14.0cm × Height 7.6cm\n\nYoshinobu Morimoto was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1976.
