{"product_id":"p5783","title":"Black-glazed Hikidashi sake cup","description":"This is a freshly kiln-fired *hikidashi-guro kake-wake* sake cup by Koichiro Isezaki, who was born as the eldest son of Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and has brought a breath of fresh air to the Bizen ware world through his extraordinary sense and masterful sculpting ability. While taking full advantage of the properties of Bizen clay, he skillfully incorporates elements from his roots—such as wood carving—to create a unique work that is instantly recognizable as his own. The *hikidashi* (pulling from the kiln) technique used during firing has caused the kiln transformation and overall scenery to take on a gem-like quality; the amber-colored *goma* (ash glaze) and the azurite-like blue sections create a mysterious landscape that is truly overwhelming. The piece was created by taking a large sphere of clay, tearing it in two, and joining them together to form a shape, which gives the vessel surface its natural protrusions and fine wrinkles. These textures create variations in the thickness of the natural glaze and black slip, adding even more complex shading to the *hikidashi-guro* (pulled black) finish. This work features *kake-wake* (partially applied) black slip, and by using white clay as the base, the viewer can enjoy four distinct colors: amber, clear black, indigo, and crystal white.\n\nSigned wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping).\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 9.1cm x 8.3cm x Height 5.4cm\n\nKoichiro Isezaki was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, as the eldest son of Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki. The Isezaki family has produced many ceramic artists, starting with his grandfather Yozan Isezaki, followed by Mitsuru Isezaki and Jun Isezaki. After graduating from the Department of Sculpture at Tokyo Zokei University in 1994, Koichiro Isezaki studied abroad in the United States. He spent approximately two years studying ceramics under Jeff Shapiro, a ceramic artist based in New York City and a student of his father, which greatly broadened his perspective on art and ceramics. He returned to Japan in 2000 and began his career as an independent ceramic artist under his father.","brand":"伊勢崎晃一朗","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618689798241,"sku":"5783","price":36000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/5783.jpg?v=1790240551","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p5783","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
