{"product_id":"p5814","title":"Hidasuki Sake Cup","description":"This is a Hidasuki sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his work with clay, firing, and form. The \"reduction-fired Hidasuki,\" which Morimoto himself calls \"nukimono\" (extracted pieces), is exactly as the name suggests: the rich, scarlet Hidasuki markings are developed as if extracted from deep within the clay. Across the chocolate-toned, luscious-looking surface, intense vermilion markings bloom, making it appear as though the fire still dwells within the piece. The \"umadarai\" (horse basin) shape is said to enrich the aroma of sake, and when combined with the fragrant, atmospheric texture of the clay, it results in a captivating sake cup one almost longs to bite into. According to Morimoto, reduction-fired Hidasuki is profound, and the more it is used, the more the clay surface develops character and depth, offering endless enjoyment.\n\nSigned wooden box to be provided later (please allow some time for shipping).\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 8.1cm x 7.6cm x Height 4.0cm\n\nYoshinobu Morimoto was born in Okayama Prefecture in 1976.
