{"product_id":"p5820","title":"beer The Sixth Heavenly Demon King","description":"This new beer glass, \"Dairokuten Maoh\" (The Sixth Demon King), is a work by Toru Ichikawa, who made a striking debut after studying under Ryuichi Kakurezaki. It is an exceptionally creative and unconventional piece, characteristic of Ichikawa-sensei, who gives form to his endless stream of ideas through clay, the supreme medium. The title of this work, \"Dairokuten Maoh,\" is taken from a letter said to have been written by Nobunaga to Shingen, and it was created with the image of the Sengoku warlord Oda Nobunaga, who met a tragic end just before unifying the country. Based on Nobunaga’s signature colors of black and red, accented with brilliant gold leaf, it is an impactful piece that is impossible to forget once seen. In addition to the black, red, and gold, the base features platinum glaze, skillfully bringing together a variety of glazes. The different glaze textures are achieved by varying the shrinkage rates, creating entirely distinct finishes, while the swirling clay flow created by the *shinogi* (chiseled grooves) makes the contrast between these textures even more vivid.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san) \u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 9.1cm x 8.7cm x Height 10.7cm\n\nToru Ichikawa was born in Tokyo.
