{"product_id":"p5821","title":"Bizen Sake Cup","description":"This is a newly fired Bizen sake cup (guinomi) by Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki, an artist who continues to lead the world of Bizen ware with an inexhaustible creative spirit. This piece was fired for about ten days in an anagama kiln, resulting in a work that exhibits a well-balanced array of the kiln's distinctive characteristics. It offers a rich visual experience typical of Isezaki Bizen, featuring elements like sesame glaze (goma), fire cord patterns (hidaski), scorched sesame glaze, and gradients of white clay transitioning into vivid scarlet. Due to the intense firing process, the piece is highly varied; where the rice straw directly contacted the flames, it drew in the ash to form white and thread-like sesame patterns, while other areas shifted into brilliant hidaski that stand out against the white clay body. This particular sake cup features a new design modeled after a miniature tea bowl, with a spacious rim that makes it easy to focus on the landscape within the interior.\n\nSigned wooden box to follow (please allow some time for shipping).\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.8cm × 7.7cm × Height 6.3cm\n\nJun Isezaki was born as the second son of Yozan Isezaki, a master noted for his craftsmanship.
