{"product_id":"p5844","title":"Bizen sake bottle","description":"This is a Bizen sake flask from an earlier period by Masashi Yoshimoto, a devoted pupil of the Bizen ware Living National Treasure Kei Fujiwara, whose philosophy and style he continues to uphold. It includes a pottery biography from around 2004, suggesting the piece was created around that time. It is a work that perfectly embodies the philosophy of Fujiwara Bizen; one can identify it as a Yoshimoto piece at a single glance while simultaneously sensing the presence of his mentor, Kei Fujiwara. The exquisitely fine *kase-goma* (matte sesame glaze) requires precise temperature control, and its magnificent coloration is a testament to years of diligent study and effort. Contrasting with the *kase-goma*, which blends complex shades of yellow, green, and gray, is a *nuke* (unglazed area) that transitions from *shiso* (perilla) red to brown. Its moist, matte texture seems to almost beg for sake to be poured into it. (This is an unused item that was purchased new and kept carefully in its unopened packaging.)\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san)\u003cbr\u003e\nMouth diameter 4.1cm × Body diameter 10.0cm × Body diameter 10.0cm × Height 13.6cm Capacity approx. 470cc\n\nMasashi Yoshimoto became a live-in apprentice to Living National Treasure Kei Fujiwara in 1964, studying under him for 19 years until Fujiwara's passing.
