{"product_id":"p5854","title":"Bizen Hand-Molded Sake Cup","description":"This is a hand-molded Bizen sake cup by Eiyuki Wani, who studied under the master Toyo Kaneshige and inherited his techniques and aspirations as his final apprentice. Included is a pottery biography from around 2005, suggesting the piece was likely created around that time. Upholding Toyo Kaneshige’s teaching of \"being honest to the clay, being honest to the fire,\" Wani allows the inherent flavor of Bizen clay to bloom in its most natural state within a style free of ostentation. The *yohen* (kiln change) is a remarkably refined example that beautifully inherits the style of Toyo Kaneshige, featuring a very fine, matte *kase-goma* (stony sesame glaze) where yellow, blue, and gray colors mingle complexly. Furthermore, the deliberate placement of *koge-goma* (scorched sesame glaze) on the rim and the far side effectively tightens the overall color palette while softening the texture, thereby enhancing the tactile experience of using the piece. The gentle character of the hand-molding perfectly complements the high-quality kiln change, creating a harmony of earth and fire rather than forcing the intense kiln effects to the forefront. (There is a small flake on the foot from the firing process, but it does not affect use.)\n\nSigned wooden box (double-braced lid)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.6cm x 5.8cm x Height 4.4cm\n\nEiyuki Wani entered the apprenticeship of Toyo Kaneshige in 1967, becoming the master's final disciple. Following his master's passing, he studied under Michiaki Kaneshige and also received instruction from Sozan Kaneshige. In 1975, he built his kiln in Kagamino and became independent after his first firing. He has held solo exhibitions in various locations including Mihara, Okayama, Tokyo, and Sapporo. In 1999, he was awarded the Grand Prize at the Tea Ceremony Modeling Exhibition.","brand":"和仁栄幸","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618014351457,"sku":"5854","price":12000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/5854.jpg?v=1790231120","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p5854","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
