{"product_id":"p5855","title":"Painted Bizen Sake Cup","description":"This is a newly fired polychrome Bizen sake cup (guinomi) by Anjin Abe, an artist who possesses deep insight and an aesthetic sensibility for ancient pottery, creating one-of-a-kind works through his original research and firing techniques. The front features a chicken, this year's theme, depicted with charming uniqueness through carving and red pigment against a background of gold. The sun on the back is equally majestic, resulting in a composition that balances the innocence and power of an ancient mural. It is typical of Abe-sensei that the profound texture of the clay so skillfully embraces such bold, colorful painting, creating a highly harmonious work as a whole. The interior features a rich, yellow \"sesame\" glaze (kigoma) that looks as if a drop has fallen onto it, offering a level of firing that has long impressed fans of ancient Bizen and ensuring the piece is a delight to view from every angle.\n\nSigned wooden box to follow (please allow some time for shipping)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.9cm × 6.1cm × Height 6.5cm\n\nAnjin Abe was originally a Western-style painter. While he collected pottery as a hobby, he began ceramics in 1972 to create pieces he was truly satisfied with after finding contemporary Bizen lacking. He frequently produces water jars, flower vases, flattened jars, bowls, sake bottles, and sake cups. All are wheel-thrown and finished with a spatula. He bases his ceramic production on Momoyama-period ancient Bizen and is highly particular about his firing process. He also engages in diverse expressive activities, presenting works (mixed media) that combine various materials and techniques such as ceramics, lacquer, oil painting, and bronze. He holds solo exhibitions energetically both in Japan and abroad, including in Tokyo, Osaka, New York, and Paris.","brand":"安倍安人","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618691207265,"sku":"5855","price":200000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/5855.jpg?v=1790240619","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p5855","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
