{"product_id":"p5872","title":"Bizen Yohen Blue Tea Cup","description":"This Bizen Yohen Ao (Blue Kiln-Change) teacup is the work of Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe and has loved Bizen ware since childhood, finding his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. This piece is from his \"Yohen Ao\" series, an evolution of the black Bizen style using painted clay—a specialty of Mr. Baba—where parts of the black surface have transformed into a vivid cobalt blue. The most striking feature is undoubtedly the intense cobalt blue coloration that gives the series its name, while the remaining black areas exhibit a unique, gunmetal-like finish in response to the intense firing. The \"goma\" (ash glaze) flowing from the rim down the sides is truly fascinating, with its golden hue brilliantly accentuating the black and blue tones. The blue kiln-changed sections also feature a unique, Sangiri-like variation, with a pumice-like texture that stands out remarkably against the smooth black surface. This is a large teacup suitable for any beverage, including shochu or beer.\n\nNo box included (Paulownia wood box available upon request) \u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 9.3cm × Diameter 9.3cm × Height 10.3cm\n\nTakashi Baba was born in 1983 as the eldest son of Bizen ceramic artist Shosuke Baba.
