This Shino sake cup (guinomi) is a brand-new piece, fresh from the kiln.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nFired around July 2022, this unique piece is made by applying Shino glaze to Bizen clay and firing it in a Bizen climbing kiln.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nWhile the base follows the traditions of Shino ware, the overlapping effects from the climbing kiln firing create a new series that offers an infinite range of expressions.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nRetaining the soft, beautiful white color characteristic of feldspar-based Shino glaze, the piece was fired in the middle section of the climbing kiln, known as the \"ichiban\" (number one) spot, allowing emerald-like natural ash glaze (bidoro) to flow down the surface.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe beautiful, emerald-like green glaze is stunning, but the natural glaze layered over the feldspar glaze on the back also creates an entirely new landscape that is neither Bizen nor Shino.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe foot is a bold, split-style (wari-kodai) design, while the body has a classic shape, making it very easy to use, complemented by the smooth texture of the glaze.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.5cm × 7.3cm × Height 6.0cm\n\nTakashi Baba was born in 1983 as the eldest son of Bizen ware artist Shosuke Baba.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nDetermined to become a ceramic artist from a young age, he chose to study sculpture in university to broaden his artistic perspective.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nAfter graduating from the Tokyo University of the Arts with a degree in sculpture in 2006, he honed his skills at the Kyoto Municipal Institute of Industrial Technology and Culture.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nHe became independent in 2007 and held his first solo exhibition.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nCurrently, he is active primarily through solo exhibitions at major department stores.","brand":"馬場隆志","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618060488801,"sku":"6690","price":17600.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/6690.jpg?v=1790231746","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p6690","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
