This is a brand new Shino sake cup (guinomi) that has just been taken out of his kiln.\u003cbr\u003e\nFired around July 2022, this unique piece features Bizen clay coated in Shino glaze and fired in a Bizen climbing kiln.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nWhile the base follows the traditions of Shino ware, the overlapping effects of the climbing kiln firing create an infinite variety of expressions, making this a truly novel series.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nRetaining the soft, beautiful white color characteristic of Shino’s feldspar-based glaze, this piece was fired in the kiln's mid-section—a spot known as the \"ichiban\" (prime position)—causing a green, Shigaraki-like ash glaze to slide down the surface.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe emerald-like, beautiful natural glaze is, of course, stunning, but the natural glaze layered heavily over the feldspar glaze on the reverse side forms an entirely new landscape that is neither Bizen nor Shino.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe foot is a bold, split \"wari-kodai,\" while the body features an orthodox shape, making it very comfortable to use, especially when combined with the smooth texture of the glaze.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.2cm × 6.8cm × Height 6.0cm\n\nTakashi Baba was born in 1983 as the eldest son of Bizen ceramic artist Shosuke Baba.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nHaving thought about becoming a ceramic artist since childhood, he chose to study sculpture in university to broaden his perspective on pottery.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nIn 2006, he graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts with a degree in sculpture and continued his training at the Kyoto Municipal Institute of Industrial Technology and Culture.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nHe became an independent artist in 2007 and held his first solo exhibition.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nCurrently, he is active primarily through solo exhibitions at department stores.","brand":"馬場隆志","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618060783713,"sku":"6701","price":17600.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/6701.jpg?v=1790231761","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p6701","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
