{"product_id":"p6705","title":"Yohen sake cup","description":"This is a newly fired Bizen yohen sake cup (guinomi) by Koichiro Isezaki, who was born as the eldest son of Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and has brought a breath of fresh air to the world of Bizen ware with his exceptional sense and skillful formative ability.\n\nThis is his latest work, just removed from the kiln in August 2022.\n\nWhile utilizing the characteristics of Bizen ware as an earthen material, he skillfully incorporates elements from his roots, such as wood carving, to create unique pieces that are instantly recognizable as the work of Koichiro Isezaki.\n\nIn the production process of this piece, the clay was powerfully shaved away with a spatula, causing the surface to fray and revealing a unique texture as if the clay had been slammed against a rock face to transfer its ruggedness.\n\nFurthermore, the applied foot creates a simple yet imposing base; despite its silhouette being that of an orthodox traditional Bizen sake cup, the piece possesses an otherworldly presence, resembling a cup carved from rock.\n\nThe kiln transformation is a rare result from near the side-firing hole in the middle section of the anagama kiln, producing a lustrous, dense, black \"haikaburi\" (ash-covered) effect similar to that of a climbing kiln.\n\nThe distinction between the ash-covered areas and the non-covered areas is clearly delineated, which is startling for an anagama firing.\n\nThe \"nuke\" (uncovered areas) reveal a beautiful scarlet hue that indicates the piece was fired at the perfect moment, making this a work packed with an intrigue unseen in Bizen ware until now, in its form, firing, and earthen qualities.\n\nSigned wooden box to follow (please note that it will take some time before dispatch).\nDiameter 7.5cm x 7.0cm x Height 6.1cm\n\nKoichiro Isezaki was born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, in 1974, the eldest son of Jun Isezaki.\n\nAfter graduating from the Tokyo Zokei University Department of Sculpture in 1994, he studied abroad in the United States.\n\nHe later apprenticed under Jeff Shapiro, a potter living in New York City and a student of his father, in 1998.\n\nAfter studying pottery for about two years, he returned to Japan and, from 2000, began working independently as a potter under his father, Jun Isezaki.","brand":"伊勢崎晃一朗","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618060849249,"sku":"6705","price":26000.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/6705.jpg?v=1790231764","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p6705","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
