This is a newly fired Bizen yohen blue guinomi (sake cup) fresh from the kiln.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nThis is his latest work, just removed from the kiln in April 2023.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nIt is a piece from his \"Yohen Ao\" (Transmutation Blue) series, in which he has further evolved his signature black Bizen technique using applied clay, causing parts of the black surface to transform into a vivid cobalt blue.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nWhile the intense cobalt blue coloration, for which the \"Yohen Ao\" series is named, is what catches the eye, the rest of the black surface also features a unique, gunmetal-like black finish reacting to the intense firing.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nThe \"goma\" (ash glaze) running from the rim is also truly fascinating; the somewhat grayish, subdued tone of the goma, characteristic of Baba's kiln, beautifully accentuates the black and blue hues.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nThe form is a simple, generously sized sake cup, allowing you to fully enjoy this innovative firing technique through its clean, straightforward shape.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nThe vibrant blue and cool black deepen in color when in use, offering not just visual intrigue, but also the pleasure of use.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nIncludes signed wooden box (shiho-san)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 7.1cm x 7.1cm x Height 5.5cm\u003cbr\u003e\n\nTakashi Baba was born in 1983 as the eldest son of Bizen ceramic artist Shosuke Baba.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nThinking he would become a ceramic artist from a young age, he chose to study sculpture in university to broaden his perspective on pottery.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nAfter graduating from the Tokyo University of the Arts Sculpture Department in 2006, he refined his skills at the Kyoto Municipal Institute of Industrial Technology and Culture.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nHe became independent in 2007 and held his first solo exhibition.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nHe is currently active mainly through solo exhibitions at department stores.","brand":"馬場隆志","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618072318049,"sku":"6969","price":27500.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/6969.jpg?v=1790232072","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p6969","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
