{"product_id":"p6999","title":"Bizen \"Hikidashi-guro\" Sake Cup","description":"This is a newly fired *hikidashi-guro* (pulled-out black) sake cup by Yoshiteru Koriki, who pursues his own creative path without pretense while having studied under Sozan Kaneshige and Yuho Kaneshige.\u003cbr\u003e\nThis is his latest work, just removed from the kiln in June 2023.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nWhile Koriki has created Bizen ware before, this *hikidashi-guro* sake cup is a new endeavor, utilizing cobalt to achieve a further evolution in his black ceramic work.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nBy using a clay slip infused with cobalt and pulling the piece directly from the kiln during firing, a vibrant ultramarine *yohen* (kiln transformation) has emerged on the front of the work as if seeping out from within the clay.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nOther areas of the piece showcase the characteristic scenery of *hikidashi-guro*, featuring a striking, highly lustrous dark gray and black with a metallic sheen.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nAt one moment, it glimmers like metal, only for the light to be completely swallowed by a deep black the next; gazing into the interior feels like looking into the depths of the universe.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe subtle variations in tone, such as the intensified metallic feel around the foot, remind us once again of the wonder of *hikidashi-guro* and the mysteries of light.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nSigned wooden box to follow (please note that it will take some time before shipping).\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.6cm × 6.5cm × Height 5.9cm\u003cbr\u003e\n\nYoshiteru Koriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture, in 1970.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nAfter graduating from high school, he studied ceramics under Sozan Kaneshige and Yuho Kaneshige for seven years starting in 1989.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nIn 1996, he built his own climbing kiln in Shizutani, Bizen City, and fired his first kiln the following year.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nHe held his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2000 and has held solo exhibitions every year since.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nIn 2002, he was selected for the Tea Ceremony Molding Exhibition for the first time.","brand":"高力芳照","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618729644129,"sku":"6999","price":16500.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/6999.jpg?v=1790241458","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p6999","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
