This is his latest Bizen Yohen Ao (Blue Kiln-Transmutation) sake cup.\u003cbr\u003e\nThis is his newest work, removed from the kiln in April 2023.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThis cup is from his Yohen Ao series, an evolution of his signature black Bizen achieved through applied clay, where parts of the black surface have transformed into a vibrant cobalt blue.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nWhat draws the eye most is the intense cobalt blue coloration dubbed \"Yohen Ao,\" but the rest of the black surface also exhibits a unique, gunmetal-like sheen in response to the intense firing.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe \"goma\" (ash glaze) flowing from the rim is also truly intriguing; the calm, slightly grayish-toned ash characteristic of Baba's kilns perfectly accentuates the black and blue hues.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe modern spatula carving, reflecting Baba's background in sculpture, is also fascinating, adding further depth and shadow to the black and blue colored piece.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe vibrant blue, cool black, and modern form come together in a trinity, creating an unforgettable work of art.\n\nSigned wooden box (shiho-san)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.8cm x 6.7cm x Height 5.4cm\n\nTakashi Baba was born in 1983 as the eldest son of Bizen ware artist Shosuke Baba.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThinking he would become a ceramic artist from a young age, he chose to study sculpture in university to broaden his perspective on ceramics.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nHe graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts with a degree in sculpture in 2006, then went on to refine his skills at the Kyoto Municipal Institute of Industrial Technology and Culture.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nHe became independent in 2007 and held his first solo exhibition.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nCurrently, he is active primarily through solo exhibitions at department stores.","brand":"馬場隆志","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618075234401,"sku":"7035","price":28600.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/7035.jpg?v=1790232142","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p7035","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
