{"product_id":"p7117","title":"Bizen Black Sesame Sake Cup","description":"This is a newly fired Bizen black sesame sake cup by Yoshiteru Koriki, an artist who pursues his own creative vision without pretense, despite having studied under the masters Sozan Kaneshige and Yuho Kaneshige.\u003cbr\u003e\nThis is his latest work, just removed from the kiln in October 2023.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nTrue to Koriki-sensei’s style of bringing out the character of the clay through bold, risk-taking kiln firings, this piece is an exceptional example that leans heavily toward the \"firing\" aspect of the \"firing and clay\" duality.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nBlack sesame glaze, which can only be obtained in small quantities by placing the piece where the hot blasts in front of the fire pass through, forms when layers of sesame ash build up upon one another, resulting in a gentle texture so smooth it is even used for tea bowls.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nHowever, not satisfied with that alone, this piece was fired to the very brink of being completely covered in scorched sesame, resulting in a fierce finish that makes its survival without breakage seem nothing short of a miracle.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe scenery is as if the piece had been dipped in natural glaze, and even the sesame that has encroached into the interior has thickened and transformed into black sesame.\u003cbr\u003e\n\nSigned wooden box to follow (please note that it will take some time before it can be shipped.)\u003cbr\u003e\nDiameter 6.7cm x 6.1cm x Height 5.5cm\u003cbr\u003e\n\nYoshiteru Koriki was born in Ako City, Hyogo Prefecture, in 1970.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nAfter graduating from high school, he studied ceramics for seven years under Sozan Kaneshige and Yuho Kaneshige starting in 1989.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nIn 1996, he built his own climbing kiln in Shizutani, Bizen City, to become independent, and fired his first kiln the following year.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nHe held his first solo exhibition in Tokyo in 2000, and has held annual solo exhibitions ever since.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nIn 2002, he was selected for the Tea Ceremony Modeling Exhibition for the first time.","brand":"高力芳照","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46618083950689,"sku":"7117","price":16500.0,"currency_code":"JPY","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0654\/9916\/8865\/files\/7117.jpg?v=1790232245","url":"https:\/\/tourakuen.myshopify.com\/en\/products\/p7117","provider":"川口陶楽苑","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
