p7374
Bizen Hidasuki Sake Cup
This is a Bizen Hidasuki sake cup (guinomi) by Tsuneo Osawa, an artist who strives to create works that enrich daily life, taking old ceramics as his master.

A ceramic resume from around 2006 is enclosed, indicating the piece was created around that time.

The cup features a firing and clay quality that brilliantly recreates the style of antique Bizen, reflecting the approach of Mr. Osawa, who has conducted research into old ceramics alongside his own creative work since becoming independent.

Unlike the flashy Hidasuki fired in electric kilns, this piece has a deeply refined, understated Hidasuki look characteristic of Mr. Osawa, who deeply admires old Bizen pottery.

The clay texture shows a natural marbling effect where the components are not uniformly mixed, with crimson specks emerging from within the mugwort-colored clay body.

The form has a unique presence that faintly echoes the DNA of a Kiseto hexagonal sake cup, and the foot, shaved into a triangular shape with a spatula, is remarkably stylish.

This is an unused item that was carefully stored after being purchased new.

Original signed wooden box (shiho-san)
Diameter 7.7cm x 6.8cm x Height 5.4cm

*Please note that a shipping fee of 500 yen will be charged.

Tsuneo Osawa was born in Akita Prefecture in 1964.

In 1982, he began an apprenticeship under Bizen ware artist Taisetsu Sueishi.

He built an anagama kiln and became independent in 1997, and has been active primarily through solo exhibitions while continuing his research into antique ceramics.
