This piece possesses a wabi-sabi aesthetic born from its exquisite presence, and the wheel-thrown form—which even evokes a sense of "clumsy" asymmetry—is so skillful it could be mistaken for the work of a seasoned master potter.

Furthermore, the aforementioned quiet style translates directly into a very pleasant user experience,
with the slightly thin rim and the small yet elegant construction being truly wonderful.

However, as one would expect from a pupil of Yuho Kaneshige, it does not stop at being merely beautiful;
with its unique, textured glaze and spots of pronounced "kairagi" (crawling glaze) appearing here and there,
it possesses a superb texture that can be enjoyed not only visually but also through touch.

Additionally, this piece uses high-quality clay collected by Yuho Kaneshige himself,
and the refined, earthy quality—reminiscent of Nanban or Tanegashima ware—makes one want to gaze upon it forever.

Wooden box to be provided later (we kindly ask for your patience as it will take some time before shipping).
Diameter 5.8cm x 5.6cm x Height 5.9cm

Tou-koubou Yu is a studio established in 2011 by three pupils of Yuho Kaneshige.

Current members:
Shusaku Kaneshige (born 1978), Yosaku Kaneshige (born 1980)
