Ibe Tea Bowl by Sozan Kaneshige

Hello everyone. Today, I would like to introduce an Ibe tea bowl by Sozan Kaneshige. As expected, tea bowls are synonymous with Sozan's work, and after holding this piece in my hands, I truly understood why. The slightly distorted, winding form is incredibly alluring. This exquisite tilt brings a sense of playfulness, or perhaps a mysterious ease, to the piece. The interior has a depth that draws you in, pairing perfectly with the tea pool that swirls like the Naruto whirlpools. It is a substantial, large-scale work that fits my large hands perfectly. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that my hands are embraced by it. When I hold it, I get the strange sensation that my hand and the bowl have become one. It is a wonderfully blissful feeling, like being wrapped in a warm blanket. I imagine that drinking tea from this would warm not just the hands, but the heart as well. size: diameter 13.5cm x 11.8cm x height 9.8cm
