Hello everyone, how are you doing?
Starting today, I would like to introduce some new works by Aikiya-sensei that have just been taken out of the kiln.
For ten long years, Aikiya-sensei has been working behind the scenes to support Jun-sensei.
The skills and experience gained over those ten years have been poured into these works,
and the black pieces that came out of the kiln this time are fired to perfection.
From among these stunning black pieces, I would like to introduce a recommended black bowl (free cup).

The black and the 'goma' (sesame-like ash glaze) have blended, separating into clear goma and cloudy, floating goma.
In some areas, it has kiln-changed into a beautiful blue.
Below is a detailed image of the piece on the far left.

It separates into three distinct types: pale blue goma, deep yellow goma, and a slightly black, transparent goma.

The inside of this black bowl features the natural texture of the clay and 'hi-dasuki' (fire cord) markings to add variety to the landscape.

This is the mark left by the seashell mentioned in yesterday's blog.
Natural glaze flowed between the shell and the surface, creating a fossil-like effect.
