Hello everyone, how are you all doing?

Recently, I received some very interesting photos from a customer who purchased a sake bottle by Toyo Kaneshige.
They mentioned that the sake bottle they purchased is remarkably similar in its firing to another bottle in their collection—one by Toyozo Arakawa that was reportedly fired in Toyo's kiln.
Based on the images, I suspect they may have been fired around the same time and placed in similar spots within the kiln.
Toyo and Toyozo were members of the "Karahine-kai," where they pushed each other to achieve the recreation of Momoyama ceramics and deepened their friendship.
The fact that these works by two masters, which are like siblings, have crossed paths again over time feels like a wonderful, mysterious connection.

It is said that Toyozo fired his works in Toyo's kiln in 1944 and 1951.

Toyo and Toyozo were members of the "Karahine-kai," where they worked hard to recreate Momoyama ceramics, and they deepened their friendship by exchanging letters and visiting each other's kilns.

The fact that these works by two masters, which are like siblings, have crossed paths again over time is deeply moving and feels like a truly mysterious connection.
