Hello everyone, how are you doing?
The Bizen Pottery Festival has once again come to a successful close this year.
I was truly happy to see so many of you again—from our regular customers and those who traveled from afar, to those who make it a point to stop by our shop during this once-a-year event.
Thank you all so much.
Now that the post-festival cleanup has settled down, I would like to introduce some of our autumn kiln-opening pieces.
The first installment features the new Hidasuki sake bottle and sake cup by Kazuki Nakamura.

A plump form that is recognizable as a Nakamura family piece at a glance.

The reverse side features a completely different Hidasuki expression.
On the sake bottle, the Hidasuki, which had been spread evenly, converges into a sash-like pattern, while on the sake cup, it is spread evenly across the surface.

The Hidasuki marks are clearly visible even on the foot and base.
What did you think of Kazuki Nakamura’s new Hidasuki pieces?
When thinking of Nakamura family works, one usually thinks of the characteristic scarlet clay quality, but the Hidasuki style also offers a different kind of charm that highlights the quality of the clay.
The texture is still a bit dry, just a few steps away from becoming silky smooth, but as it is used, it will wear down to become literally "slick" to the touch.
I hope you will enjoy using them until they become perfectly smooth in your own hands.
