Hello everyone, how are you all doing?
Today, I am writing to announce that we have received a new shipment of colorful small tea bowls (kohukuwan) by Yoshinobu Morimoto.
On the left is a black bowl, where the amber glaze flow complements the black body beautifully.
In the center is an Oribe bowl; its deep green Oribe glaze is very cooling and perfect for the current season.
On the right is a Bizen bowl, which is slightly smaller and well-suited for use as a shochu cup or tea cup.

The deep green of the Oribe glaze is truly refreshing, and its clear texture adds to the sense of coolness.
It is somewhat large and has a presence reminiscent of a slightly small tea bowl.

The kiln transformation (yohen) from the traditional kiln firing is magnificent, reflecting Morimoto’s dedication to authentic craftsmanship.
This is also on the larger side and is a bowl with a very strong presence.

The "thread sesame" (itogoma) pattern, resembling pouring rain, overlaps the fluting (shinogi) beautifully.
Thread sesame is created when the ash reacts with the straw wrapped around the piece.

I also personally use Morimoto’s Oribe and Iga small tea bowls at home.
Recently, I have been enjoying cold matcha drinks given to me by a customer.

What do you think? The refined craftsmanship is stunning and truly characteristic of Morimoto, who pours his energy into tea ceramics.
Even if you just use it to drink barley tea, you can feel the difference in the well-crafted rim.
These are works created with a strict aesthetic sense and clear principles to ensure they can withstand daily use.
