Hello everyone, how are you doing?
The sweltering days are truly continuing, but a rush of kiln openings from popular artists has arrived.
I hope to deliver these works to you, which are even hotter than the summer heat, straight from the kiln.
Among this rush of kiln openings, we have introduced several pieces on the
Kawaguchi Tourakuen website.
In particular, the pieces that have caught my eye are Yoshinobu Morimoto's
Ibe beer mug and
Hidasuki beer mug.
The solid black, unmixed with other colors, and the transparent quality of the Hidasuki (fire-cord) are truly magnificent.
Now, in this blog post, I would like to introduce another recommended item: the sake cups by Mashiro Aiga.
I featured them as a special collection of new works a little while ago, and I have heard that new pieces have already been fired.
Aiga's sake vessels, which balance the intensity of the firing with the natural texture of the clay, have been very well received by customers who viewed the special feature.
Each piece shows its own characteristics, and it feels as though the various factors that constitute Aiga's work have all come together.
