Today I visited Jun-sensei's studio, so I would like to share some photos.
I always think that no matter when I visit his studio, there are many visitors,
and with so many apprentices there as well, it is truly brimming with vitality.
I was able to observe the potter's wheel area, and I was captivated by the pieces Jun-sensei is preparing for his solo exhibition next March.
They are extremely large, totem-pole-shaped objects, and even though they were unfired, they were taller than my waist.
I also had the chance to see other pieces that are being fired one after another,
and since it is apparently unprecedented to hold a solo exhibition consisting only of objects of this size,
Jun-sensei himself laughed and said he had never done anything like this before and didn't know how it would turn out.
Seeing these large works and Jun-sensei, who is still full of the spirit of a challenger,
I am convinced that this is the source of the overflowing vitality of this studio and of the promising young artists who continue to graduate from it.
This important hub, which one might describe as the epicenter that is greatly shaking up Bizen, is always truly exciting to visit.
This time, I was able to get a *hikidashi-guro* (pulled-black) sake cup that came flying out of the kiln first.
I plan to upload it to the website as soon as it is ready, so please look forward to it!

The photo this time is of the *noborigama* (climbing kiln) on the studio grounds, which is not currently used much.
The chimney, which really conveys a sense of age, is very cool.
