Hello everyone, how are you doing?
Today, I would like to introduce the sake cups by So Isezaki that we recently received.
They beautifully reflect the carefulness he emphasizes most during production,
and their refined form with meticulously crafted rims and foot rings is quite impressive.
Though fired in a climbing kiln, they were placed in the shade of other works,
resulting in a bright finish featuring both "goma" (ash glaze) and "hidasuki" (fire-cord) reminiscent of an anagama kiln.
A "botamochi" design is subtly applied to the interior,
which should offer an elegant scene like a moon reflecting on the water's surface when in use.

The bright reddish-brown clay body with fine "goma" (ash glaze) is characteristic of the Isezaki school.

Dark, shaded "hidasuki" (fire-cord) patterns emerge from the clay body.

The tall, refined foot ring is reminiscent of his father, Mitsuru Isezaki.

On the left, vivid "hidasuki" (fire-cord) strikes through the white gaps.

On the right, gaps faintly tinted in pink are featured.
