Description

This is a Bizen tea cup by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of the leading figure of the Kaneshige school, Kosuke Kaneshige. It is an appealing piece with a refined form that even conveys the presence characteristic of Jumpei-sensei, demonstrating his meticulous craftsmanship. While it features a simple firing style of clay texture with *goma* (sesame ash glaze), the interior and exterior reveal a rich, sticky clay texture that clings to the fingertips—showcasing the exquisite charm of Kaneshige Bizen, which stands in a class of its own compared to other Bizen tea cups.
