Description
This is a new teacup by Kazuki Nakamura, a master artisan who carries on the tradition of his father, Makoto Nakamura, and grandfather, Rokuro Nakamura, both masters of sake vessels, to create works of profound depth. Many pieces from this recent firing turned out with exceptionally beautiful scarlet hues, and this work in particular features a vibrant scarlet color throughout. Its plump, charming form fits remarkably well in the palm of the hand, making it a joy to use, while the smooth texture felt at the fingertips provides a truly pleasant tactile experience. Being a larger size, it is versatile enough for tea, beer, shochu, or coffee, and as it comes in a signed wooden box at an affordable price, it also makes an excellent gift.
