Description

This is a new Hidasuki guinomi (sake cup) by Kazuki Nakamura, a potter who creates deeply flavorful works, continuing the lineage of the master sake vessel makers Rokuro Nakamura and Shin Nakamura. The piece is crafted using the signature clays of the Nakamura school, fired meticulously in an electric kiln to achieve a rich, mellow finish. The clay body has a slightly yellowish-white hue, adorned with a bold, deep scarlet Hidasuki (fire cord) pattern. The rim, in particular, possesses a sensual quality, a testament to the lustrous coloration achieved through expert temperature control. Signed wooden box (double-slatted)
Diameter 7.2cm × Diameter 7.1cm × Height 5.2cm Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Shin Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to hone his ceramic techniques. He fired his first kiln and became an independent artist in 2006.
