Description
This Bizen small plate is by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an excellent aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his handling of clay, firing techniques, and craftsmanship. Meticulously fired using mountain clay, it strikes a balance between the raw, rugged presence of the earth itself and the bright, crisp, and refreshing character of the sesame glaze. The rich, well-fired yellow sesame glaze, reminiscent of antique Bizen jars, is a delight to behold and beautifully enhances the colors of the food served upon it. The underside features a rich, dense clay texture with a sophisticated purple hue as its base.
