Description
This Bizen small plate is the work of Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with a superior aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his handling of clay, firing, and craftsmanship. It is made from mountain clay fired slowly, resulting in a piece that balances the raw, powerful presence of the earth itself with the light, crisp, and refreshing character of the sesame glaze. The rich, deeply fired yellow sesame glaze, reminiscent of those seen on ancient Bizen storage jars, is a delight to behold and will beautifully complement the colors of any food served on it. The reverse side features a rich, textural quality based in a sophisticated purple hue.
