Description
This is a Bizen hidaski yunomi (tea cup) by Tomio Ochi, who works diligently at his kiln under the guidance of Yasuhito Abe, pouring his ever-unsatisfied passion into his pottery. This piece aims for an "Ochi-hidaski" that goes beyond the limits, surpassing what is normally achievable with the hidaski technique. Fired at temperatures more than 100 degrees higher than usual, the cup embodies lines that undulate like a dragon and a scarlet color as vivid as flame. It is a work that clearly demonstrates the tireless effort Ochi puts into his craft, with the meticulousness of the overall form further elevating its quality.
