Description
This is a Bizen sake cup by Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who carries on the tradition of the master sake vessel makers Rokuro Nakamura and Shin Nakamura to create deeply flavorful works. The piece features a scarlet-colored clay body characterized by *kase-goma* (dry, crusty ash glaze) as its base, with *koge-goma* (scorched ash glaze) appearing in some areas. While it is a flat sake cup (*hirahai*), it has a slightly upward-extending form that makes it easy to hold and use. The gentle firing typical of the Nakamura family will become smooth to the touch and take on a deeper red hue as it is used over time.
Signed wooden box (double-slat lid)
