Description
This is the latest Bizen hidasuki sake cup by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige family. It features a fresh, vibrant hidasuki (fire-cord) pattern that one would not expect from an electric kiln, a testament to the Kaneshige family's pioneering research into hidasuki firing techniques. The vivid scarlet, reminiscent of safflower, will become even more striking when moistened with sake, surely intoxicating all who behold it. With the understated yet dignified presence characteristic of Jumpei-sensei, its substantial feel makes it a pleasure to use. Traditional techniques are subtly evident in the interior, which appears wider and larger than it actually is, and the undulating, wave-like rim.
